The Library's collection includes books, journals, manuscripts and visual resources, as well as the archives of the central organisation of Quakers in Britain. It is open to all and free to use. We aim to collect and preserve a record of Quaker activity, increase access to information about the Society of Friends, and encourage study in Quaker and related activities.
Temporary closures
The library and archive areas are undergoing essential maintenance work. This means that our reading room is closed for research appointments. We anticipate reopening by spring 2026, but the exact date has not been confirmed. We will do everything we can to keep our library users informed of developments. We apologise in advance for the inconvenience.
