    FAQs

What is the best way to support Quakers in Britain?

Regular, ongoing giving is the best way to support us. You could give monthly or annually through a regular standing order. Of course, we also welcome one off gifts!

    How much should I give?

All gifts, whatever their size, are valued and make a difference. We believe very much in the principle of equal generosity, giving what you can afford. Some Friends give £2 a month and some give £200 a month.

I'm thinking of leaving a legacy to Britain Yearly Meeting and to my local meeting too but I want to make sure my family are provided for too. Can I do this?

You can leave legacy gifts to multiple beneficiaries in your will. For example, you might decide that your family are to receive 80% of your estate, with the remainder to be divided between BYM and your local meeting.

I value the work organised by BYM and have got a lot from the work personally. Can I help you to fundraise?

Yes! We know that our best advocates are Friends on the ground who often run appeals at the end of meetings for aspects of our work or encourage other Friends to set up a regular standing order. We can provide you with information and support to do this. Contact us at contributions@quaker.org.uk so we can tell you more.

Can I still pay by cheque?

If you prefer, you can also make a one-off donation through sending us a cheque payable to Britain Yearly Meeting and send it to us at: Fundraising Team, Friends House, 173–177 Euston Road, London, NW1 2BJ.

I'm a Quaker treasurer/collector. Where can I find information and support for the annual appeal for contributions?

Please visit the Contributions page for this year's contribution material and a new Guide to contributions. If you would like information about claiming Gift Aid and other support then please visit the Treasurers' page.

    Fundraising resources

Our contributions page has the latest contributions appeal pack, letter and gift aid form. If you are a treasurer or collector, you may find our Guide to Contributions a useful starting point.

Over the past year, the Fundraising Team has written a number of blog posts on different areas of fundraising including:

We are currently developing a number of fundraising policies for BYM and for local meetings which include a Vulnerable Supporters Policy and a Guide to Fundraising Regulations for Quaker meetings. When this are ready, we will post these here.
