QLCC 14 June 2025
Quaker Life Central Committee (QLCC) heard about the work to support youth, children and families, including at Yearly Meeting. It also received updates on the work and on upcoming Quaker Life Representative Council meetings.
What is this committee responsible for?
QLCC guides all Quaker work to support Quaker communities to grow, thrive and be inclusive.
What did it do at this meeting?
We heard about the staff work providing national support to youth, children and families. This 'NEAR' approach provides Networks for young adults and those working with children, Events such as Junior Yearly Meeting, Accompaniment to Quaker communities wanting to support children and young people, and Resources for meetings. We also heard about the positive experiences participants had across our under-19s programmes at Yearly Meeting in 2025, and plans to embed inclusion in all continuing Yearly Meeting sessions.
There are plans to hold regional days of Quaker Life Representative Council between September-November and to enable more Quakers, beyond appointed reps, to attend and take part.
