Quakers in Britain launches new podcast
Quakers in Britain has launched a new podcast, The other side of silence, for anyone curious about spirituality and the Quaker way.
The show is the latest version of the organisation's podcast, following on from A Quaker Take. This time, episodes will also be filmed so clips can reach people who watch rather than listen.
A new episode will come out every month. The first, an introduction, is out this September. October's episode explores silence, linking the podcast's title to Quaker worship and what it means to move beyond it.
Podcasts continue to be a growing medium for reaching new people with Ofcom figures showing that 27 per cent of UK adults now listen to at least one podcast weekly.
Hosts Rhiannon Grant and Josh Selfe will talk to guests about faith, decision making, and daily life. Future episodes will cover Quaker discernment, spiritual reading, hope and justice.
Josh said Quaker theology often grows out of conversation. "I'm excited to see if The other side of silence can be another vehicle for these conversations," he said.
The podcast aims to welcome newcomers and experienced Quakers alike, and to start conversations that continue in homes and meetings.
New episodes will be available monthly on major podcast platforms.
