Standing up for human rights

Amid great constitutional change and uncertainty and on UN Human Rights Day, Quakers in Britain are joining more than 140 civil society groups in an open letter to the prime minister. They are seeking commitment to “stand firm on universal human rights standards as the foundation of a forward-looking UK".

Faith groups pledge action on climate change

This week's global gathering on climate change brings politicians and activists to Bonn, Germany. The 23rd annual conference of the parties (COP) under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) aims to prevent dangerous global warming. Quakers in Britain have signed statements urging the conference to take urgent action.
