Quaker Earthcare Gathering: Nurturing Radical Witness and Worship
24 - 27 October 2025, Derbyshire
An all-age residential gathering at the Hayes, Swanwick, Derbyshire, DE55 1AU
Friday 24 – Monday 27 October 2025. Adults £375, 6-16 year olds £120, 0-5 year olds £20. Financial support available. Contributions invited for a bursary fund.
Join us for this residential weekend to explore how our Quaker faith and communities can help us to meet the Earth crisis with hope, strength, and compassion. Our time together will be deeply rooted in worship, and will include a children's programme, short talks, workshops, discussions, practical activities, music, dance, art and much more.
Organised by Quakers in Britain, Living Witness, Quaker Support for Climate Action and others.
The event will be accompanied by a broader community building process, designed to nourish our Quaker faith and communities to meet the Earth crisis with hope, strength, and compassion. You are welcome to take part in the community building process or the residential weekend, or both.
All of our pre-booked residential places at The Hayes have now been filled but there are still some bedrooms available on a first-come-first-served basis. We will also have space for non-residential participants, so please do let us know if you'd like to come or participate in the community building process by filling in this form.
We are hoping this Gathering will engage Friends with a wide range of lived experiences. Please bear this in mind when considering who in your meeting might like to attend. There will be a children and young people's programme, with at least one session a day for children to be together and one all-age session. Friends are welcome at the Quaker Earthcare Gathering whether they have found a role in Earth crisis response, or are still seeking.
Ask about financial help by emailing info@livingwitness.org.uk. Please check first whether your local or area meeting can support you, or for 18-35 year-olds whether you can get support from the Quakers in Britain young adult grant scheme.
All contributions to the gathering bursary fund are gratefully received. You will be able to donate via the event payment form.
